The Confident Parenting Course
Join us on Thursday evenings, from the 24th of July, as we gain insights into how they can best contribute to our child’s positive emotional health.
What to expect:
It will be run out of the lower hall at Toongabbie Anglican Church (46 Binalong Rd Pendle Hill) and is free for anyone to attend.
The 4 part course explores 4 big questions to help parents improve confidence in parenting:
Where is my energy being directed?
Is worry driving my connection?
How do I hold clear limits?
Am I thinking big picture?
Each week includes a short bible reflection although you don’t need to be a Christian to attend. The content of the course is produced by Christian Psychologist Dr Jenny Brown. You can find out more about the course.
Taste & See
Join us on Thursday evenings, from the 4th of September, as we explore the basics of the Christian faith and think more about what Jesus has to say about life.
What to expect:
Over a couple of weeks and different meals, we will explore the basic big ideas about God around the table.
Anyone is welcome and it’s especially helpful if you’re curious about Christianity. This will be a great space for anyone to ask questions or simply enjoy the journey.
Week 1- We begin with a fresh, earthy spread of vegetables and salad as we marvel at God’s good design and explore big questions like: How can we know God? What does it mean to be human? Is there more to life? Then, over a greasy fast-food main course, we dig into what’s gone wrong with the world, and hear what Jesus has to say about it.
Week 2- This week we share a Middle Eastern meal rich in ancient significance, drawn from the Jewish Passover tradition remembering God’s rescue. We'll see how Jesus used this very meal to reveal his mission as God’s answer to our world’s deepest need.
Week 3- Our final meal is an international banquet celebrating the new life offered by Jesus. We reflect on what it means to live life to the full now and beyond death, and how Jesus’ resurrection brings a hope that transforms everything, even today.
