Gazing into the Future

In the last few weeks at TAC, we have had the great privilege of looking at Romans 1-8. Some have called Romans the greatest letter ever written, for it sets our sights on the future.

It says that, no what you might go through, that nothing can separate you from the love of Christ (Romans 8:37-39). Sometimes we can feel as if the world is pressing in against us. Circumstances seem to be transpiring against us. The future can feel uncertain. The things that were once secure can feel so fragile.

It is to this and many other situations that Romans 8 seeks to point us back to the forgiveness and righteousness that is available only in Jesus. In this world, there will be difficulty and suffering. But in the world to come, there will be no mourning, no more pain, no more suffering and no more death.

It will be so because Jesus, the one who gave his life so that we can be forgiven, will have put all things right. I long for this world. Do you?
