The Life of the Reillys
Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be a missionary? Have you thought about what it would take – the years of praying and preparing, building support, the excitement of going, the difficulties of settling in to a totally different culture, learning a new language and through all that, sharing the great news about Jesus with others? Well this is the life that Brendan, Leaf, Taran and Ruby Reilly have chosen.
The Reillys currently live in Chang Mai, northern Thailand. Their mission is to share the gospel with spiritual travellers. These searchers are people from all different walks of life that find themselves travelling in Asia looking for truth in their lives.
My family had the privilege of visiting the Reilly family in 2017. We witnessed firsthand their ministry in a little place called Pai. We sat in a circle with believers and searchers as together we sang songs, shared stories, prayed and wrote poetry. It was a magical couple of hours.
However, the life of missionary families is often difficult. There are problems with schooling, health issues and ministry setbacks with which to contend. And at all times you are totally dependent on God working through others for prayer and financial support.
The Reillys will be visiting our church on Sunday July 21st to say g’day and share what’s been happening for them. Please be praying for their time in Australia and for their ministry in Thailand. If you would like more information about the missionaries that our church supports, including how to sign up for their prayer letter or support financially, please let us know via Connect card or email email@example.com.
Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man (an Ethiopian official) reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. Acts 8:30-31
