PARTICULAR PRIORITIES

These particular priorities are what we, as a church, have agreed to focus on for the coming years. They’re important to us because of the gospel, our context and opportunities as well as present challenges. They won’t be addressed unless we give them particular attention.

1. TO BE A CHURCH WHERE PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE FIND TRUE BELONGING IN CHRIST

The Challenge and Opportunity

We value deep, real relationships, but it can be hard for newcomers to connect into existing friendships and experience community. As our diversity grows, so too does our complexity. This creates opportunities for conflict, and even moreso for grace!

Strategies

  1. Sharing people’s stories regularly on Sunday.

  2. More events for opportunities to connect

  3. Regular congregational newish events + termly onboarding

  4. Redo our training to opt-in termly.

Find out more details in our vision booklet.

2. TO BE A CHURCH WHERE EVERY MEMBER IS EMPOWERED TO USE THEIR GIFTS TO SERVE

The Challenge and Opportunity

We already deeply value working together. As we grow we need to help people discover their gifts, find their way into serving, and support+unburden those who are overloaded. We hope all members of our church are helped into serving in accordance with their gifts, passions and means.

Strategies

  1. New ‘serve team’ who love helping others find their place to serve.

  2. New ‘gift’ survey as a tool to assist the new serve team.

  3. Ministry specific training pathways to equip people with the skills to serve effectively.

  4. Raise up Team Leaders & empower them to build joyful, united teams that share the vision.

Find out more details in our vision booklet.

3. TO BE A CHURCH THAT HOLDS OUT REAL HOPE TO ALL PEOPLE

The Challenge and Opportunity

The opportunity is huge!! There are more than 35,000 people within a 5km radius of our church. The vast majority of them are lost and without hope in Jesus. The challenge is clear: to step beyond our comfort and reach people where they are, pointing them to Jesus in ways that connect.

Strategies

  1. Build an Outreach Team to run engaging courses and see more people reached each year.

  2. Equip our people to naturally share Jesus and invite others into church life.

  3. Partner with organisations like Anglicare to share Jesus’ love with those in need in our community.

  4. Deepen our gospel partnerships here at home and across the world.

  5. Explore new local partnerships like our connection with Toongabbie Public School.

Find out more details in our vision booklet.

4. TO BE A GROWING CHURCH THAT ISN'T LIMITED BY OUR BUILDING

The Challenge and Opportunity

We want to keep growing for the sake of reaching more people. For years we’ve foreseen the limitations of our site. Every option here is hard and costly and we long to see plans put into action according to God’s will. While this ought not be limited to ‘buildings’ we do currently have an approved DA and it is worth pursuing this for the decades to come at our church.

Strategies

  1. Work with SDG to develop detailed, affordable plans for a larger building.

  2. Exploring more ways to serve alongside other local churches.

  3. Our vision goes beyond buildings, we’ll explore partnering, repotting, and planting over the next five years.

Vision Month Projects

DA MODIFICATION

Target: $200,000

To get started, we’re aiming to raise $200,000+ to help us take this first big step.
Will you give beyond your pledge to help build for the generations to come?

We’ve been near capacity for a while now, what a wonderful problem to have! As we look ahead, our prayer is to keep creating space for generations to come, so that thousands in our community might be reached for Jesus.

It’s time to take the next step in this long awaited project. To begin, we need to modify our current Development Approval (DA) and complete physical commencement before it lapses in April 2027.

While our existing DA allows for a $6 million build, we believe we can achieve the heart of that vision in a more sustainable way, a new 250+ seat church building connected by a breezeway to our current one, keeping the lower hall and ministry centre, and adding more parking. This approach is more affordable, with an estimated cost of around $3 million.

GOD’S BIG PICTURE IN PORTUGUESE

Target: $5,000

For this project we’re supporting our mission partners the Loa-Ferrieras with a special translation project. Their pastor Joe has received permission to translate Vaughan Roberts’ “God’s Big Picture” into European Portuguese to help Portuguese believers (especially GBU students) see the Bible as one story of salvation centred on Jesus. We can help put resources we take for granted into the hands of many in Portugal and beyond.

To give to this project:

  • go to tac.church/give and add ‘Godsbigpicture’ as a description to EFT or credit card

  • use BPay code:

    • BPay code: 132001

ANGLICARE: PRACTICAL CARE IN ACTION

Target: $5,000

Due to sudden Federal funding changes, 14,788 families risk losing access to vital services after October 1. We’re supporting the Anglicare Crisis Appeal with a gift of $5,000. Anglicare walks beside families in crisis, offering practical help - like groceries, medical support, and even replacing broken essentials. By partnering with Anglicare, we’re helping families in crisis receive the care they need and experience God’s love in action.

To give to this project:

This project is tax deductible, but only if you donate through the portal Anglicare has created for us. Click the learn more button below for more information about this appeal and to give online.

Pledge Your Giving for 2026

Jesus has shown us the most extraordinary generosity - he gave his life so that we might be forgiven and have eternal life. We have the absolute privilege of being stewards of what God has entrusted us for his purposes.

Our church is funded entirely by the giving of those who attend. During Vision Month, we ask and invite people to indicate their level of giving for the coming year. This helps you to regularly rethink and pray about your giving as circumstances change. It also helps the church leadership plan wisely for the year ahead.

In order to pledge your giving for 2026 you can either fill in the pledge form at the back of the Vision Booklet and pop it in a giving box at church or complete the form online. Your pledges to give are completely confidential and only seen by our accounts manager.
